Published by Serindia Publications, The Lhasa Houseis the long-awaited second volume after The Temples of Lhasa (Serindia 2005), and is a comprehensive survey of the vernacular architecture of Lhasa, based on the THF’s five-year conservation project in Tibet. The book offers the most detailed documentation of its kind yet published, and is an important contribution to our understanding of an architectural typology that is vanishing.
After André’s untimely passing in 2012, his colleague and co-founder of THF, Pimpim de Azevedo, worked tirelessly to prepare the manuscript for publication. She will be joined by another THF colleague, Yutaka Hirako, as special guests at the launch. They will give a presentation on the book and the work of THF, and a wine and cheese reception will follow. Books will also be available for purchase.
