This documentary provides a glimpse into a world rarely seen by the West—and tells the incredible story of two Westerners working side-by-side with Tibetan seamstresses to reclaim a piece of history. The film features amazing archival footage about the re-creation of the giant silk appliqués of Tsurphu Monastery in Tibet, after the 400 years old originals were destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. Skilled artists Terris and Leslie Nguyen Temple led a team of Tibetan seamstresses at the request of a young 17th Karmapa in making these intricate, gigantic pieces of art.
The screening begins at 7:00 pm and will be followed by Q&A with Terris and Leslie Nguyen Temple moderated by Paola Vanzo of Here Now.
